For Christmas 2008, our twins gave me the book Making Working Wooden Locks by Tim Detweiler. I began making locks and enjoyed it. I went wood shopping for different wood types and grain patterns that would add to each lock’s beauty. I showed some of the locks to friends and former co-workers and an interest from others wanting to buy the locks began. From their interest and encouragement, the concept for WoodByDave.com was born. My oldest son then became interested in developing my website and he has provided ideas and additional

support in moving this endeavor forward.
